Sequence

Sequence is the board game equivalent of a family recipe. Most of the tables we have played it at learned it from a grandparent, and every one of them is convinced their own house version is the correct one. We give it 5/5 Bamboo and 4/5 Pandas, because it is fast to learn and it turns genuinely good once you play it in teams, which is the version we reach for. The Sequence review is our honest take on who should buy it and who should skip it. The cards that cause the most arguments are the jacks, so our guide to all eight of them settles what the one-eyed and two-eyed jacks each do and when to spend one instead of sitting on it. One warning before you buy. If you mostly play as a pair, read Sequence at two players, which is honest that the head-to-head game is playable but not the best version of itself, and suggests what to put on the table instead.
