I’ve been obsessed with board games since before I could properly shuffle a deck. Some of my earliest memories are busting out Sequence on camping trips, staying up way too late playing Risk with cousins, and yes — a table or two have been overturned during particularly heated games of Monopoly. No regrets.

Games have always been about the people around the table for me. The laughter, the trash talk, the moments where someone pulls off an impossible comeback. That’s what keeps me coming back — and that’s what King Panda Games is built around.

How I Review Games

I play every game before reviewing it. That sounds obvious, but you’d be surprised how much board game content online is written by people who’ve watched a playthrough video and called it a day. Not here.

I focus on two things: how easy it is to learn (Bamboo Plants score) and how much fun it actually is (Pandas score). Both matter. A game can be brilliantly complex and still be a slog. A game can be dead simple and still have the table screaming at each other in the best way possible.

I’m not trying to be BoardGameGeek. I’m writing for people who want to know one thing: should I buy this game?
