Best-Of Lists

These are our ranked lists. Every game on every list was played at our table, usually more than once, and the rankings reflect what actually got requested again rather than what the internet says you are supposed to like. When a game slides down a list, it is because a newer one beat it in person, not on paper.

Start with the list that matches your table. Best Board Games for Families is for mixed ages, Best 2-Player Board Games is for couples and roommates, and Best Games for Groups of 4 or More is for the crowd that shows up on a Friday. We also rank the things nobody else bothers to rank. The Best Board Game Expansions tells you which add-ons are worth the money and which ones stay in the shrink wrap. Each list gets updated when something new earns its place, so the date at the top of each article matters.
